Archie a 2 year old neutered (also docked and dew clawed) Black and White Male
English Springer Spaniel went missing from our home at Millpool Farm, Wards Lane, Congleton, Cheshire, CW12 3LN on
Wednesday 22nd October 2014 at approximately 6pm, he is Microchipped and was wearing a black collar with a circular metal
name tag on with his owners contact details.
This
came to our attention at approx 6pm (it was going dark) when one of our neighbours made us aware that 2 Black and White
Springer's were in the field adjacent to us (our land), after retrieving them within minutes, we find out shortly
after that this was Oscar and Sam, Archie assumingly was with them at some point as an escapee but they were never seen
as a 3. We do not know how they escaped as it was not physically seen but it is highly probable and logical that they
had somehow escaped through the main property gate which is electric, this can be opened manually by punching in a code from
inside or outside the property or via the remote key fobs. It is possible to accidentally trigger these if they were
leant on by someone if still in a pocket, we do however have manual gates within the property as well to reduce the risk
of that occurring.
The only person to come through the
electric gate that evening was my wife who had been shopping so this may or may not be the time that the 3 Springer's
may have sneaked out somehow !!!
The fact is we
do not know how they got out (it is an educated guess) and in what direction Archie was travelling when he went missing,
he could of gone in any direction as we are linked to a main road (CW12 3LN) and old railway line that goes N, S, E &
W, it seems logical that they were going towards the Town Centre as Oscar was found on Ryedale Way (where we used to live
1 field away and 300 yards as the crow flies) where my friends had him. The problem is that Archie is a Dog that will run
and run and his recall is questionable.
I
was patrolling and looking for Archie until 3am that night and alerted all Vets, Police, Wardens etc, we had posters out the
next day and have had a major campaign to find him since then through various channels, I have dedicated 90% of my "awake
hours" to this cause and will continue to do so until I find him. If I did not know any better I think somebody has him
so I am now treating this as though Archie is "Stolen".
We still cannot rule out that he is living off the land somewhere, after being part
of this campaign and understanding more about Lost and Stolen Dogs it is mind blowing. I do believe that the whole aspect
of Dog Law needs to be looked at and at some point needs to go to Government to change many things. I think it will worsen
before it gets better.
I also have to comment that for those of you who are insinuating that I have been involved
in his disappearance either by a fatal accident that has been covered up or that I have sold him to someone then
you should be ashamed of yourself, if this continues then you can talk directly to my Barrister !!! I have hundreds
of positive testimonials from friends, colleagues, customers etc. If you push my buttons too much I will sue you for deformation
of character and leave the group and let you get on with it !
Without my help which has been consuming my life through hundreds of hours online, tens of hours on the road, thousands
of pounds of my money, time, adverts, Specialist Pet Recovery website payments, posters, part of the reward offer, let
alone the detriment of my health, work, my own Dogs and personal family relationships their is less chance
of getting Archie back !
I live for Dogs and would never see any of them
hurt, for those of you who don't know me I also foster, retrain and rehome dogs that are on death row for various
reasons and I can totally sleep at night because I am a good person.
By all means if one of you has the ability to get me on the Jeremy Kyle show I am more than happy to take any
form of Lie Detector Test that you can throw at me, it would be a great way to publicise that Archie is missing so "Bring
it On", I have nothing to hide and want Archie back along with the hundreds of other dogs that are also out there missing
!!
Whilst I appreciate the family whose dog it is
are devastated has it ever crossed your mind how bad I feel every day, whilst he was in my care, he was my responsibility
and sadly the buck stops with me, each day is an emotional roller coaster for 2 families, mine and the Nields's, so show
a little respect please in what you write on public domains.
I am also disappointed in certain people that are in the group that have allowed those comments to occur without
standing in my corner and re commenting on my input to this project, what goes around comes around !
Regards and Thank You to the bulk
of you who are behind me in this cause, Andrew Preston
